Investment and Brokerage Accounts
The first step is to open a Share Investment Account with Emirates NBD. At the time of opening the Investment Bank Account with Emirates NBD, the client can simultaneously fill in the forms for obtaining the National Investor Number (NIN) & Brokerage account.
Requirements
Emirates NBD Securities offers its investors a number of services to simplify their trading experience to access Dubai Financial Market, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai. To start trading with us, a one-stop service is available wherein all account opening procedures can be initiated with great ease by visiting any of the Emirates NBD Branches.

- Documentation Requirements
Please note the following information:
- There is no minimum balance required for opening the Share Investment Account (SIA). However, sufficient funds should be available in the account for placing buy orders.
- For trading in DFM & ADX, customers have to open the Share Investment Account (SIA) in AED currency.
- For trading in NASDAQ Dubai, customers have the option to open Share Investment Account (SIA) in AED or USD currency.
- There are no charges for opening a Share Investment Account (SIA) with Emirates NBD or a brokerage account with Emirates NBD Securities.
- Note to clients who were holding a NASDAQ Dubai account with Emirates NBD Securities prior to 11th July 2010: As of 11th July 2010, NASDAQ Dubai consolidated its key market operations with DFM. Consequently, all investors have to fulfill the requirement of a holding an investor number with DFM in order to trade in NASDAQ Dubai. Therefore, if you already have a National Investor Number (NIN) issued by DFM, you may visit any of the Emirates NBD Securities branches to open a brokerage account in NASDAQ Dubai. - Upon issuing the NIN and opening of the brokerage account, a Trading ID will be issued which will be communicated to the clients via telephone and / or email. This unique trading ID can be used by clients for identification purposes while trading with us.
- To place orders at the broker counters, the investor or the authorized Power of Attorney holder (POA) should be present in person. Emirates NBD Securities will recognize POAs only those have been registered with Emirates NBD Securities based on the notarized POA.
- The client must ensure that his portfolio is updated in the brokerage account in case of share transfer, prior to trading.
- For identification purpose, the investor should satisfy the queries raised by the broker, before placing orders through telephone and / or when called over at the broker counters.
- Opening a Share Investment Account with Emirates NBD
A Share Investment Account (SIA) is the settlement bank account where all transactions related to share trading will be routed through i.e. all the value of your purchases or sales in your trading account will be debited or credited respectively to your Share Investment Account (SIA) on the settlement date.
- Customers are required to duly fill and sign the Share Investment Account (SIA) Application Form
- In case of company account, company stamp to be affixed next to authorized signatures
- For trading in AED currency in NASDAQ Dubai, you are required to duly fill and sign the Trading in non AED Denominated Securities Application Form. Please

- Applying for a National Investor Number (NIN) with DFM/ND & ADX
The National Investor Number (NIN) is a unique number given to customers from respective markets. It identifies customers account at the clearing and Depository System (CDS) with the market which holds all investor shares.
Customers can visit the markets directly and obtain an investor number by completing the application form and submitting all the relevant documentation or alternatively, they can submit the application and documentation at any of the Emirates NBD branches.

- As of 11th July 2010, NASDAQ Dubai consolidated its key market operations with DFM, as a result DFM & NASDAQ Dubai shares a common NIN
- ADX issues a separate NIN. Therefore, if you already have a NIN from both DFM/NASDAQ Dubai & ADX markets, you may submit the application for opening brokerage account only
Opening a Brokerage Account with Emirates NBD Securities
The brokerage account is the trading account that is opened under Emirates NBD Securities using your investor number with the market.
